Xiaomi has just refreshed the Redmi K Pad with a new colour option. The Chinese version of the Xiaomi Pad Mini, the Redmi K Pad is Xiaomi’s first foray into a market dominated by Apple and Lenovo in the last few years. Nonetheless, the Redmi K Pad packs a punch despite its comparatively small 205 x 132 x 6.5 mm housing.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Redmi K Pad will not be a one-time thing. Instead, Xiaomi is said to have already committed to delivering a second-generation model. While details are likely to be scarce for the next few months, Digital Chat Station indicates that Xiaomi will replace the Redmi K Pad next year with a new model. Although the leaker has not confirmed the tablet’s name yet, the Redmi K Pad 2 and Xiaomi Pad Mini 2 seem like logical choices for the time being.
