Sydney Swans stalwarts Dane Rampe and Jake Lloyd will play on again in 2026.
Sydney Swans stalwarts Dane Rampe and Jake Lloyd will play on again in 2026. The club has delisted the pair, with the commitment of selecting them in the upcoming 2025 Telstra AFL Rookie Draft.
Both Rampe and Lloyd began their AFL careers as rookies, and sit first and second all-time for the Sydney Swans as having played the most games from the rookie list.
Rampe was originally taken with pick 37 in the 2012 rookie draft and has gone on to play 272 games for the Swans. The 35-year-old served as the club’s co-captain from 2019-2023 and won the 2019 Bob Skilton Medal as the Sydney Swans Club Champion.
Lloyd also joined Sydney through the 2012 rookie draft (pick 16), has played 271 games in the red and white. He has twice been the Sydney Swans Club Champion, in 2018 and 2020.
Executive GM – AFL Football, Leon Cameron, said the club believes both Rampe and Lloyd can be excellent contributors next season.
“Dane and Jake have both been fantastic servants of this football club for a long time, so we’re excited they will be going on again in 2026,” Cameron said.
“Both boys are extremely well-respected members of the playing group and contribute to the club on so many levels, on and off the field.
“We have committed to taking both Dane and Jake in the upcoming rookie draft, because we believe they will continue to play valuable roles for us next year.”
