The 18-year-old received the Round 11 nomination
Crows forward India Rasheed has been named the Round 11 Telstra AFLW Rising Star nominee.
It follows her impressive performance against Port Adelaide in Showdown IV on Friday night at Norwood Oval, where she had 14 disposals (11 kicks, three handballs) at 71 per cent efficiency and took a career-high six marks.
The 18-year-old, who debuted for Adelaide in Round One, has featured in every game for the Crows this season.
Adelaide’s Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said Rasheed’s Rising Star recognition was well-deserved.
“The nomination is great recognition for India who has been as consistent as any first-year player I’ve seen,” he said.
“She has put a lot of time and effort into her craft and is getting rewards.
“India has become an integral part of our forward line and has quickly become a really valued teammate.”
Rasheed was selected by the Crows with Pick No. 13 in the 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft, after playing for Sturt in the SANFLW, winning the 2024 SANFLW Breakthrough Player Award, and placing third in the league best and fairest.
She was also a two-time All-Australian at the Under 18 AFLW National Championships.
Rasheed is the Crows’ second Rising Star nominee for the 2025 season, joining Brooke Boileau in Round Seven.
