TIM Blanchard has hinted at Aaron Cameron’s contract renewal in reflecting upon a promising Gold Coast weekend for the Ford squad.

James Courtney was the highest non-finals driver on Saturday, finishing seventh, before he and Cameron made for two Blanchard Racing Team cars in the Sunday Top 10 Shootout.

Courtney was on for another strong race result until being nudged into the Turn 11 barriers by Anton De Pasquale and collected by an unsighted Richie Stanaway to force him into a DNF.

Cameron meanwhile brought his CoolDrive Mustang home in 10th on Sunday.

It’s the continuation of progress for a team which was absolute backmarkers in Rounds 2 and 3 of the season (Albert Park and Taupō).

“It was a good weekend. We keep moving forward. We’ve made a lot of progress through the second half of the season,” said Blanchard.

“We got two top 10 results and having both Mustangs in the Shootout on Sunday was a highlight.

“JC just loves this place, which is his home race, and Aaron Cameron is really starting to progress. He is definitely finding his groove at this level, which is good as we start to look ahead to next year.”

While officially unconfirmed at this stage, V8 Sleuth understands Cameron is now a lock to return in 2026.

That will make for an all-ex-Garry Rogers Motorsport driver line-up, with Cameron and James Golding having regular teammates in S5000 once upon a time.

The other vacancy on the 2026 grid belongs to Matt Stone Racing, where Zach Bates is the favourite.
