Punctuality of movie artists is one of the most discussed topics in any film industry because it will have a telling effect on the entire film production which involves crores of money, dates of technicians and co-artists and also impacts the overall output as well. This is why actors who arrive on sets in time are treated with high respect.
Recently, Tamil director Murugadoss openly criticised Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for his unprofessional attitude while working on their film Sikandar. Murugadoss alleged that Salman used to come very late to the sets while shooting for the film and also lamented that due to his negligent style, the team was forced to adjust the schedules. These comments have triggered a huge debate in the media and also among the industry circles.
Now, acclaimed Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi kicked up a similar controversy with his scathing remarks. During the promotions for Yami Gautam’s upcoming film Haq, Emraan hailed the actress as a stickler for punctuality and took an indirect dig at some actors with his critical comments.
While praising Yami Gautam, Emraan said ” I think I expected the kind of professionalism and she is one of the few actors who come on time like me. So there was no problem there”. The host immediately wondered if actors these days still arrive late to the sets and Emraan was quick to say ” Arey Kuch Log Toh Aate hi Nahin” ( some actors don’t even arrive on sets at all).
Emraan’s controversial comments are now going viral all on social media. Meanwhile, they sparked a big debate because he recently shared screen with superstars like Salman Khan in Tiger 3 and Pawan Kalyan in OG. As Salman recently faced similar allegations from director Murugadoss, many started assuming that may be Emraan also experienced a similar situation while shooting for Tiger 3.
Meanwhile, some were pointing fingers at Pawan Kalyan as Emraan played the role of antagonist in the recent blockbuster OG. As it is well known that Pawan has been juggling between movies and politics after becoming Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, may be some shooting schedules might got impacted due to his busy schedule. But, Pawan has worked more than 15 hours for many days to complete the shooting formalities of OG on time and also to oversee his political duties.
Moreover, Pawan himself went to Mumbai to shoot some episodes there. However, due to Emraan Hashmi’s health issues, combination scenes could not be shot as planned.
So, it is unclear against which actor was Emraan Hashmi’s comments were aimed at. But, they have sparked huge discussion in both Bollywood and South India.
