The Ford Football Ferns end their the three-match October window against the reigning Olympic champions and world number 2, the USA.
After two tight defeats south of the border, the challenge doesn’t get any easier against a US side stacked with talent.
But Emma Hayes’ side aren’t infallible, and come into the match after a win and a loss against Portugal earlier in the window.
The game is the will take place at CPKC stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, the first time the USWNT have played at the ground, the first in the country build specifically for women’s football.
Who is likely to make Michael Mayne’s starting line-up?
With a packed match schedule that sees the Ford Football Ferns playing every three days to prepare the side for what they could face at the next FIFA Women’s World Cup, it was always likely to see changes from game to game.
Head coach Michael Mayne made five changes between the first and second game against Mexico so a similar number could come in to face the USWNT.
Indiah-Paige Riley has been one of the main dangers for the Ferns so far so will likely continue on the wing as the team look to cause damage in Kansas.
Lara Wall, called up for her first ever squad, will be keen to make her debut, and what a place to do it against one of the best sides in the world.
Player to watch: Olivia Moultrie
In a team packed with global stars, the relative newcomer, Portland Thorns’ Oliva Moultrie, was the player who scored twice in the team’s 3-1 win over Portugal.
With 10 caps and four goals to her name, the 20-year-old midfielder will be looking to cement her place in Emma Hayes’ plans building toward the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 where the USA will be going to win.
