Derek Hough is so excited about the next chapter of life. He and his wife, Hayley Erbert, are expecting their first child together. The couple shared the exciting news on Instagram on July 22 with a sweet video. Now, four days later, Hough has shared some still images from the shoot he and Erbert did and his caption is so sweet.
“Already so loved,” Hough wrote.
Friends and fans commented on the post, many sharing in the joy.
“Couldn’t be more happy and excited for you both,” wrote former Dancing With the Stars pro Allison Holker. Hough and Erbert also received love from other DWTS family members, including Val Chmerkovskiy, Mark Ballas, Candace Cameron Bure and Teresa Giudice.
“So beyond thrilled and excited for you!! Congratulations,” someone else said.
“The level of excitement as if I know these people is crazy!!!! lol Congrats what a beautiful journey that’s about to happen,” a third fan added.

Hough and Erbert tied the knot in 2023. In late 2024, Erbert suffered a medical emergency and nearly died. The two had been on tour and Erbert fell ill while performing. She began having a seizure back stage and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors found a severe brain bleed and Erbert underwent emergency surgery. Though her prognosis wasn’t clear, she pulled through with flying colors and has since made a full recovery.
