The San Francisco 49ers are one of the many teams who should be busy ahead of the NFL’s trade deadline next week.

The team has an obvious need in their pass rush as they will be without Nick Bus for the rest of the season. It’s a need that GM John Lynch has already indicated he’ll look to address.

However, the team might not just be buying at the deadline despite being in the thick of the playoff race at 5-3.

There is some belief they could also be looking to move one of their veteran starters.

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings has found himself at the center of trade speculation recently.

He added a bit of fuel to the speculation with his latest social media move.

Jennings deleted his Instagram account ahead of the trade deadline.

Jennings held out over the summer as he looked to secure a payday for himself amid issues at receiver for the 49ers.

That move helped him get $3 million in potential incentives added to his contract for the 2025 season, but didn’t lead to the deal being extended at all.

With Brandon Aiyuk set to return to the 49ers at some point, Ricky Pearsall looking like a strong option when he’s healthy, and some cheaper veterans filling in nicely, the 49ers don’t have much reason to be all that attached to Jennings.

With that expiring deal and other options for the 9ers, the only thing that’s really holding Jennings back from being a trade candidate is that I’m not really sure who would be interested in adding him right now.

He doesn’t have much of a production history in the NFL and has struggled this season. Through six games played, Jennings has made just 18 catches for 212 yards.

Maybe somebody will overlook that because he had 77 catches for 975 yards last season if they can get him cheaply, but that is his only season over 500 yards.

If they can find a suitor, moving on from Jennings before he walks for free this offseason would probably be a good move for a 49ers team whose wide receiver room will get more crowded as the season goes on.
