Richmond midfielder Isabel Bacon has been named in the 2025 AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 Squad, presented by Intrepid, after a breakout season in the yellow and black.
She earned a shot in the midfield throughout the year, after a promising pre-season saw her speed and football smarts reach a new level. But it’s her defensive prowess that has selectors excited this season.Â
She starred during Dreamtime in Darwin against Essendon, collecting a career-high 12 disposals, as well as eight kicks in the same match.
The 20-year-old was also prominent in defence in Western Australia during Round 11, laying seven tackles against the Dockers.
Bacon was selected by the Tigers with pick 13 in the 2023 AFLW Draft, playing 22 matches to date.
The final team will be decided by a fan vote. You can vote for Bacon here.
Voting closes on Thursday 6 November, with the final 22Under22 Team of the Year to be released on Wednesday 12 November at 11am (AEDT).
Richmond hosts Gold Coast at IKON Park on Saturday from 3.05pm (AEDT). Tickets are on sale here.
