The New York Giants (2-6) are gearing up for a Sunday afternoon showdown with the San Francisco 49ers (5-3), marking rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart’s sixth start in the NFL.
Unfortunately for Dart, after losing star wide receiver Malik Nabers for the season earlier this year, he’ll now be without his backfield partner, fellow rookie running back Cam Skattebo, who suffered a major ankle injury last week that required surgery and will sideline him for the remainder of the season.

The Dart-Skattebo duo had sparked plenty of hope for the city and the Giants fanbase, and while losing Skattebo was a significant blow, Dart has continued to provide plenty of spark on his own.
On Thursday, the NFL announced that the former Ole Miss star had officially been named Offensive Rookie of the Month for his standout performance in October.
He threw for a combined 873 passing yards and seven touchdowns while maintaining an impressive 90.0 passer rating, adding three rushing touchdowns on the ground.

The news has Giants fans ecstatic, who immediately celebrated Dart receiving the NFC Rookie of the Month honor.
“He’s going to win ROTY if we win some more games. Hes playing great. Defense isn’t. They need to expect more out of themselves, they could be much better (as we’ve seen),” a fan said.
Someone else added, “the future is now.”
Another person wrote, “The Start! First of many accolades!”
“Jaxson Dart is absolutely HIM,” one more fan commented.

The Giants had their eyes on Jaxson Dart entering the NFL Draft, and head coach Brian Daboll made sure they got their guy. While the team hasn’t won many games, the promise and upside are certainly there — regardless of whether they decide to retain Daboll as head coach.
