UFC Vegas 110 Main Event: No. 12 Contender Steve Garcia vs. No. 13 Contender David Onama
At the top of the bill on Saturday night, the featherweights do battle in a crucial 25 minutes or less of action on moving day in the division. No. 12 contender Steve Garcia (18-5 MMA, 7-2 UFC) makes his 10th walk to the fabled Octagon against No. 13 contender David Onama (14-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC.) This main event is an advertised maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round to close out the show.
Garcia enters UFC Vegas 110 on a 5-0 clip in his last five fights. This past July, he trekked down south to Nashville for a unanimous decision victory over Calvin Kattar (23-10 MMA, 7-8 UFC) on the main card.
This is Steve Garcia’s most important fight thus far in his UFC tenure. A win here in the UFC Vegas 110 main event could net him a spot in the top-10 as early as this coming Monday morning.
Across the way, David Onama comes into the weekend with a record of 4-1 in his last five contests. At present, he’s won four fights in succession dating back to June of 2023. Most recently, he scored a unanimous decision win in Kansas City six months ago against Giga Chikadze (15-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC.)
Onama just celebrated his four-year anniversary as a member of the UFC’s active roster a few weeks ago and he’s won 75 percent of the time while under the company banner. The stakes are high for him in UFC Vegas 110. How will he fare here?
UFC Vegas 110 Co-Main Event: No. 6 Contender Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs. No. 9 Contender Ante Delija
Your co-main event of the evening at UFC Vegas 110 on Saturday night happens at heavyweight. This is another crucial fight as it relates to the future of the UFC Heavyweight Championship picture as No. 6 contender Waldo Cortes-Acosta (14-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) heads into the fabled Octagon for the 10th time versus No. 9 contender Ante Delija (26-6 MMA, 1-0 UFC.) It’ll be a three-round fight at five minutes per round.
Cortes-Acosta will be making the walk on Saturday evening with a record of 4-1 in his past five outings. He’ll be looking to get back into the winners’ circle this weekend after dropping his Aug. 23 fight by way of unanimous decision to Serghei Pavlovich (20-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC.)
Cortes-Acosta just fought slightly more than two months ago and is reeling from defeat in his late summer contest. It could be a tall order for him on Saturday, however.
Meanwhile, Ante Delija is sporting a 4-1 record of his own in his last five contests. Heading into UFC Vegas 110, the 2022 PFL Heavyweight Champion has won two fights in succession.
On Sept. 6, he made his UFC promotional debut a most successful one when during UFC Paris, Delija bested Marcin Tybura (27-10 MMA, 14-9 UFC) by way of first-round knockout with an uppercut followed by ground and pound shots. In so doing, he secured a $50,000 (USD) cash advance for the Performance of the Night bonus.
This is only his sophomore appearance under the UFC promotional banner and he’s already got a number next to his name. Will the second verse be the same as the first?
UFC Vegas 110: Jeremiah Wells vs. Themba Gorimbo
Also on the UFC Vegas 110 main card, the welterweights do battle when Jeremiah Wells (12-4-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC) meets up with Themba Gorimbo (14-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC.) Wells enters Saturday’s event with a mark of 3-2 in his last five appearances inside the cage, but he’s dropped two fights in a row.
Back on Feb. 10, 2024, he was defeated by split decision versus Max Griffin (20-12 MMA, 8-10 UFC) inside the UFC Apex. Wells hasn’t fought since.
Two planned fights, one in June of last year against Niko Price, the other in May of 2025 against Andreas Gustafsson, were postponed without a punch being thrown due to Wells withdrawing from the respective cards. The postponements have added up to nearly 21 months of inactivity for the Wells camp.
How much ring rust does he have? Only time will tell.
In the other corner, Themba Gorimbo will touch down in Enterprise this weekend having gone 4-1 in the past five bouts. He’ll be eager to return to victory lane after being defeated by first-round submission due to an anaconda choke from Vicente Luque (23-12-1 MMA, 16-8 UFC) during UFC 310.
After an active 2024, Gorimbo is making his initial walk to the cage in 2025 on Nov. 1. Can he secure the victory?
Rest of the Card
The UFC Vegas 110 main card is rounded out by the following fights:
A featherweight contest pairing Issac Dulgarian (7-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) with Yadier del Valle (9-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC,)
a welterweight fight between Charles Radtke (10-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and Daniel Frunza (9-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC,)
