LIV Golf has entered its official offseason, giving team captains and general managers the chance to reshape their four-man rosters ahead of the 2026 season.

During this period, teams can retain players who finished in the top 24 of the Individual Standings, extend contracts for those in the Open Zone, explore trades, and sign free agents. They can also recruit from outside the League or through LIV Golf Promotions and the International Series.

The offseason is officially open.

Trades. Extensions. Free agents. New faces on the horizon. Team GMs and captains are already shaping their 2026 rosters.

How Player Status Is Determined

LIV Golf’s season features both individual and team leaderboards. In 2025, Jon Rahm captured the Individual Championship and led Legion XIII to the Team Title. Joaquin Niemann (Torque GC) and Bryson DeChambeau (Crushers GC) finished second and third individually, while Crushers GC and Stinger GC rounded out the team podium.

Player standings at season’s end determine roster eligibility for 2026:

Lock Zone (Top 24): Guaranteed a place for 2026. Players with expiring contracts receive at least a one-year extension offer; those who decline become free agents.
Open Zone (25–48): Eligible for new contracts, trades, or free agency.
Drop Zone (49+): Relegated but can return through LIV Golf Promotions or the International Series.

Free Agency and Trades

Teams may re-sign existing players, trade with other franchises, or sign new talent from within or outside the League. Options include:

Signing a Lock Zone or Open Zone free agent
Trading contracted players between teams
Recruiting through LIV Golf Promotions or the International Series

Relegation and Pathways Back

Players finishing 49th or lower are relegated but remain eligible to earn a return spot via:

LIV Golf Promotions: A qualifying event for professionals and top amateurs.
The International Series: An Asian Tour-sanctioned pathway into LIV Golf.

Former LIV player Scott Vincent currently leads the International Series standings, followed by Miguel Tabuena and Lucas Herbert, who already secured his 2026 spot with a top-15 finish this season.

Looking Ahead

Player signings and trades will be announced as teams finalise lineups for 2026. The new season will visit 10 countries across five continents, beginning with LIV Golf Riyadh presented by ROSHN, February 5–7, 2026.
