Broncos rookie Benjamin Te Kura is reportedly on the radar of multiple NFL teams, despite having only just begun his NRL career.

Standing at 205cm, Te Kura is officially the tallest player in NRL history, towering over peers like Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Dom Young.

The 21-year-old prop tips the scales at 122kg and has become a physical standout in rugby league.

Te Kura made his NRL debut in round five of the 2024 NRL season, coming off the bench against the Melbourne Storm.

NFL-accredited agent Dwane Bugden has revealed strong interest from both the New York Jets and Detroit Lions.

“The interest is absolutely genuine,” Bugden told the Daily Telegraph.

“They would sign him tomorrow.”

Bugden confirmed that Te Kura would be open to the switch but is under contract with Brisbane for the current NRL season.

“He would have gone right away this season, but he had his contract with the Broncos,” Bugden explained.

Both NFL teams remain eager, with a final decision expected at the end of the year.

“Both New York and Detroit are super keen on Ben,” he said.

“They are keen as mustard. They would sign him tomorrow.

“Ben will make a decision at the end of this season.”

Te Kura’s size, athleticism and youth make him an ideal candidate for a transition to American football.

He could follow in the footsteps of Jordan Mailata, who successfully made the leap from league to the gridiron.

Mailata, a former rugby league junior, now plays as the starting left tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles who were the Super Bowl champions last season.

His success has sparked a growing interest in NRL players from NFL scouts and teams.
