The 2025 Formula 1 season has been far from easy for Ferrari, but there is one area where the Maranello team has proven to be the very best. The Scuderia has secured a championship title with four races remaining — a unique victory in a special classification that highlights Ferrari’s excellence in one of the sport’s most crucial aspects.
This season was expected to be very different for the team from Maranello, which began the year with ambitions of fighting for the world title. However, the SF-25 has shown some design flaws, a consequence of the technical choices made during the previous winter. In addition, the car’s aerodynamic development was halted early by Loic Serra, who decided to focus resources on refining the new rear suspension system. That decision has not paid off so far, but after the last two races, Ferrari has shown signs of recovery. Several adjustments made by Charles Leclerc to the differential and the brake-by-wire system have helped unlock more potential from the car. Despite the challenges, the Italian team has managed to triumph in a very particular ranking.
Ferrari the best in pit stops
Since the start of the 2025 season, Scuderia Ferrari has consistently led the pit stop times leaderboard. From Melbourne (2.23 seconds) to Shanghai (2.05), and through circuits such as Suzuka, Jeddah, and Imola, the team has built a quiet yet solid dominance in the pits. At Monaco, where every fraction of a second counts, Ferrari’s pit crew made headlines once again — 2.00 seconds for Charles Leclerc and 2.08 for Lewis Hamilton. Even in Canada, Lewis Hamilton’s stop was clocked at just 2.08 seconds. The latest standout moment for the Prancing Horse came in Zandvoort, where Charles Leclerc’s stop was completed in 2.10 seconds. Although the team has not returned to the very top in the subsequent rounds, Ferrari’s mechanics have continued to deliver top-tier performances, keeping the Scuderia among the fastest teams in the pit lane.
This remarkable consistency has earned Ferrari the symbolic ‘championship’ decided by thousandths of a second. Pit stops are one of the most decisive elements in Formula 1, especially in a season-long battle for points and podiums. The reward for this excellence is the prestigious DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award, a trophy that in recent years has been dominated by Red Bull. In 2025, however, Ferrari’s precision, teamwork, and attention to detail have allowed the Italian squad to take the crown with four races still to go — a clear sign that when it comes to operational perfection, the Scuderia remains among the very best in Formula 1.
