Englishwoman Francesca Jones, the No 3 seed, won against Russian Tatiana Prozorova 7-5, 6-2 to reach the final of the Palermo Ladies Open on Saturday.
Jones, ranked No 101, will play the winner of the match between Dutchwoman Anouk Koevermans and Austrian Julia Grabher, the No 9 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Englishwoman beat Hungarian Panna Udvardy (6-2, 6-3), Russian Oksana Selekhmeteva (6-4, 6-3) and Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet (6-3, 6-1).
Prozorova, ranked No 157, defeated Belgian Hanne Vandewinkel (7-5, 5-7, 6-1), Liechtensteiner Kathinka von Deichmann (4-6, 6-2, 6-1) and Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva, the No 6 seed (7-6 (5), 6-4) in the previous rounds.
