Arsenal are working very hard to extend Bukayo Saka’s contract.

Andrea Berta has had his hands full since he became the Gunners’ sporting director in March this year. He didn’t just have to plan for the summer transfer window, but several contracts had to be renewed as well.

The Italian has done a magnificent job on both fronts so far. He completed eight new signings in the summer and has also secured the futures of Gabriel Magalhaes, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and William Saliba.

Up next is Saka, and talks are ongoing.

What Arsenal and Bukayo Saka are discussing now as contract talks continue

Bukayo Saka is Arsenal’s most important player.

The England international came through the ranks at the club and has been unbelievable over the years. He has been one of the pillars of this Gunners project and among the biggest reasons why they are competing for the top trophies.

Saka has entered the final two years of his contract at Arsenal. His current deal, which was signed in May 2023, expires at the end of next season.

Berta has been in talks with Saka’s camp over an extension, and there is confidence from both sides that the deal will be done.

Fabrizio Romano has now shared an update.

The journalist has suggested that money is not an issue in discussions – Saka will become one of Arsenal’s highest-paid players with his new deal.

Talks are currently ongoing about the duration of his contract.

Romano wrote in his GiveMeSport newsletter: “Yes, he would be among their top earners. The length of the contract is being discussed, but talks are very positive, so I think a new deal will get done.”

Andrea Berta wants to renew three Arsenal stars’ contracts after Bukayo Saka

Arsenal fans would have no problem if Berta decided to take a break and go on holiday for some time after the brilliant work he has done over the last few months.

However, the Italian is showing no signs of stopping.

Once Saka’s deal is done, Arsenal Insider can confirm that Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard will all be offered new deals.

All three players are integral to the Gunners, and their terms expire in 2028. With Rice, Arsenal have an option to extend his contract by 12 months.

Yet, Berta is working hard to get those deals secured, and the expectation is that all the players will be happy to continue their careers at the Emirates.
