Italian Jannik Sinner, the second seed, beat Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 9 seed, 6-4, 7-6 (4) to win the Paris Masters final at the La Défense Arena on Sunday.

This is the first Masters 1000 trophy for the Italian in 2025. Being suspended for Indian Wells, Miami, Monte-Carlo and Miami, he had lost in the the finals of Rome and Cincinnati, skipped the Canadian Open, and retired at Shanghai. This result will bring him back at the number on spot at the ATP rankings on Monday.

Sinner, ranked No 2, defeated German Alexander Zverev, the No 3 seed (6-0, 6-1), American Ben Shelton, the No 5 seed (6-3, 6-3), Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo (7-5, 6-1) and Belgian Zizou Bergs (6-4, 6-2) ahead of his victory.

Earlier in the tournament, Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 10, beat Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 13 seed (7-6 (3), 6-4), Monégasque wildcard Valentin Vacherot (6-2, 6-2), German Daniel Altmaier (3-6, 6-3, 6-2), Frenchman Alexandre Muller (5-7, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4)) and Argentinian qualifier Francisco Comesana (6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-3).
