The latest Man Utd news as their former goalkeeper, David De Gea, shares an update on Instagram.

David De Gea has issued a message as he prepares for a return to Manchester United.
De Gea left United in the summer of 2023, after 12 years at Old Trafford. After a year without a club, the Spain international went on to sign for Fiorentina on a free transfer last summer and is now preparing for a return to United, as they and he fine-tune their preparations.
United meet Fiorentina in a pre-season friendly at Old Trafford on August 9. The match will also serve as the final friendly fixture before United take on Arsenal on August 17 in their Premier League opener on home soil.
With the reunion between De Gea and United just a couple of weeks away, the former goalkeeper has issued a message.
In a post on his Instagram story, De Gea included a photo from a training session ahead of the new season. The post, which was sent to the 34-year-old’s 15.6million followers, included the caption, “work in progress”.
During his time with United, De Gea made 545 appearances – after being signed by Sir Alex Ferguson. He went on to win five major trophies, including one Premier League title and one Europa League trophy.
De Gea left United in the summer of 2023 after Erik ten Hag’s first campaign as the club’s manager. De Gea was eventually replaced by Andre Onana, who’s expected to be the United goalkeeper when they meet Fiorentina in the final pre-season friendly of the summer.
