CTA Hosts Winter Inter-departmental Basketball Tournament to Promote Staff Health
Dharamsala: The Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), organised a winter Inter-Departmental Basketball Tournament at Gangchen Kyishong, Dharamshala, with the objective of promoting the physical well-being of CTA staff.
Cabinet Secretary Tsegyal Chukya Dranyi attended the event as the chief guest and delivered an address highlighting the importance of maintaining good health through active participation in sports. He noted that physical fitness and sports play an important role in leading a balanced and fulfilling life.
He further remarked that such tournaments not only promote physical well-being but also nurture essential values such as teamwork, discipline, and leadership among the youth.
In the women’s category, Team Gesar and CTA United had played the final match, Team Gesar claimed the Women’s Winter Basketball Tournament championship title, while CTA United finished as the runner-up. In the men’s division, the final game is played between the joint team from the Department of Health and the Public Service Commission versus the Department of Information and International Relations. The joint team from the Department of Health and the Public Service Commission bagged the Men’s Winter Basketball Tournament champions Title, with the Department of Information and International Relations-CTA securing second place.
The tournament concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the chief guest, Kashag Secretary Tsegyal Chukya Dranyi, presented trophies to the winning and runner-up teams.
