Wolverhampton Wanderers director of professional football Domenico Teti has agreed to leave the club by mutual consent.

Teti had only been appointed as part of Wolves’ football leadership team in June.

This follows the departure of head coach Vitor Pereira last week following a winless start to the Premier League season. All eight members of Pereira’s backroom also left the club.

Wolves are reviewing the structure around the head coach and may enhance the current football leadership team.

In a statement, Wolves executive chairman Jeff Shi said: “Domenico approached his role with total professionalism and built strong working relationships across the club during his time with us.

“He made a positive contribution to our football processes and has carried himself with integrity throughout.

“We thank him for his efforts and support and wish him every success in the future.”

Teti was appointed to the role in June, after spells with Italian club Sampdoria and Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab, where he worked with Pereira.

He joined the club following the departure of former sporting director Matt Hobbs earlier that month but was not viewed as direct replacement for Hobbs, alongside Pereira on organisational matters at Wolves. His arrival came after Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri, standout players for Wolves in the 2023-24 season, had left for Manchester United and Manchester City respectively.

Under Teti and Pereira, forward Fer Lopez, winger Jhon Arias, left-back David Moller Wolfe, right-back Jackson Tchatchoua, striker Tolu Arokodare and defender Ladislav Krejci all arrived at the club during the summer transfer window.

Wolves are bottom of the Premier League after 10 games with only two points.
