watchOS 26.2 beta 1

Apple just kicked off a new round of beta software releases: beta 1 for watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, and more are available for developers.

tvOS 26.2, visionOS 26.2, and more rolling out beta 1 now

Yesterday Apple shipped its latest round of software updates for users, headlined by iOS 26.1.

But today, the company is ready with a new lineup of betas for developers.

Beta 1 versions of watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, visionOS 26.2, and more are rolling out now for testing.

Apple typically ships its first x.2 betas slightly earlier. Last year for example, they arrived on October 23.

The delay is important because unlike some other times of year that offer more flexibility, the holiday season creates a bit of a hard deadline for Apple to ship its x.2 releases.

If the pattern from previous years is followed, Apple will want to ship watchOS 26.2 and more in mid-December, before Apple’s corporate staff take an extended holiday break.

That could mean we’ll get fewer new features than usual in this round of updates, since Apple will only have roughly a month to beta test them.

But since the 26.1 updates for watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS were very minor, perhaps we’ll get some surprises in 26.2 that have been in development for a while anyways.

Have you installed beta 1 for watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, or another update? Let us know of any new features or changes you discover via the comments.
