2.08m viewers watched Half Yours take home the Cup at Flemington.

Melbourne Cup was a winner for Half Yours and for Nine pulling a cool 2.08m viewers in National TV Audience yesterday.

That’s up on 2024’s 1.91m. While it won’t account for every person watching at parties, pubs and offices, it does include 9Now live BVOD.

Some media may call it the biggest Race in a decade, which is technically true. However since 2024, ratings include Live / Catch-Up BVOD as well as Regional + Metro figures into both a Reach figure and a National TV Audience (aka average).

Meanwhile My Kitchen Rules toped entertainment at 1.05m then 7:30 (759,000), Taronga: Who’s Who in the Zoo? (555,000), I Was Actually There (443,000) and  Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Gen (304,000).

Later The Rookie led with 479,000 then The Cheap Seats (389,000), End Game with Tony Armstrong (250,000) and Bump (230,000).

Despite the arvo crowd, Seven has a very easy Tuesday win in primetime.

Seven News pulled 1.34m for Seven then Home & Away (859,000) and The Chase (593,000). Ron Iddles: The Good Cop was 193,000

Nine News led with 1.37m then A Current Affair (1.01m) and Tipping Point (795,000). Nine News Late was 153,000. Worth noting Love Island at 296,000 outranked Bump on the main channel.

ABC News scored 759,000. Hard Quiz (335,000) QI (156,000) and The Art Of , The Assembly (both TBA) followed.

10 News drew 343,000 for 10.  Deal or No Deal (256,000) then TBA: 10 News+, and Ghosts Australia.

SBS shows were SBS World News (196,000 / TBA), Great British Railway Journeys ,Tell Me What You Really Think, Mastermind and The Cancer Killers, all TBA.
