Allrounder Cameron Green and wicketkeeper Josh Inglis have been named in Australia’s 15-player squad for the upcoming NRMA Insurance Ashes Series opener in Perth later this month.
Having missed all of season 2024-25 through injury, Green made his return to the Australian Test side in June’s World Test Championship Final at Lords and the subsequent tour of the West Indies.
The 26-year-old was a consistent performer in tricky batting conditions in the Caribbean, scoring 184 runs in six innings.
Only Travis Head (224) and Alex Carey (187) finished with more runs than Green.
In his most recent outing for the national side, Green scored the second fastest One-Day International century by an Australian against South Africa in Mackay.
Inglis also features in the squad, having made his Test debut against Sri Lanka earlier this year.
The dynamic wicketkeeper-batter also featured in the opening Test of the series against the West Indies earlier in the year.
Inglis has missed the opening three matches of the Sheffield Shield through injury and limited overs duties at international level.
In a further boost for Western Australia’s men’s side, both players are set to be available to feature in next week’s Sheffield Shield clash with Queensland at the WACA Ground.
The match forms part the much-hyped WEST FEST, which will unite cricket and entertainment across multiple venues including Perth Stadium, the WACA Ground and Burswood Park.
WEST FEST will be anchored by the opening men’s Ashes Test from November 21-25 at Perth Stadium, the first time the two sides will clash in the longest format of the game at the venue.
Cricket fans will also get the chance to head to the Ashes Afterparty at the conclusion of Day 2 of the Ashes Test, to watch the Perth Scorchers take on the Adelaide Strikers in the Weber-WBBL 11 clash at the iconic WACA Ground.
Meanwhile a short walk away in Burswood Park, a free, family-friendly festival will celebrate the people, places, cultures, and stories that make Western Australia one of the most vibrant and diverse places in the world.
