Australia’s Clean Energy Regulator has issued more than 600,000 carbon credits to energy giant Santos following the start-up of the Moomba carbon capture and storage project in South Australia’s Strzelecki Desert last year.
It marks the largest single issuance of carbon credits to date and covers the projects initial six months since starting up in September 2024.
