PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – Senior Jake Naese tied for third individually and the Temple University men’s golf team also tied for third at the Big 5 Invitational on Thursday. The one-day, 18-hole event was held at The 1912 Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED


Naese carded three birdies on his round, including a pair on the back nine that also included a run of five straight pars to close the day.
The senior closed with a two-over par 74 to finish three shots off the pace set by Villanova’s Matt Zerfass.
Two other players closed in the top 10 individually – sophomore Mason Tomé (9th) and junior Ben Saggers (10th). 
Saggers had an impressive front nine, with a team-best even-par 35, while Tomé shot a one-over par 36 on the back nine.
As a team, the Owls tied with La Salle for third while outdueling Saint Joseph’s and Penn.
Villanova won the team title by a stroke over Drexel, who bettered both Temple and La Salle by four strokes.
