Villa Chelsea will receive over €1.5 million in funding over the next three years to enhance its therapeutic services for people with mental health challenges.
An agreement signed on Thursday between the Ministry for Social Policy and Villa Chelsea secures total funding of €1,515,000, representing an increase of €700,000 compared to the previous agreement.
Under this deal, Villa Chelsea will provide 12 beds and 7,280 hours of day care for persons with mental health issues. The agreement also complements the recently signed Supported Housing initiative.
“This is a government that truly cares about everyone’s well-being. That is why we invest significant resources and services to help people facing mental health challenges,” Social Policy Minister Michael Falzon said.
“We want to ensure that mental health services in the community are accessible and that more people facing mental health challenges are encouraged to come forward and use these services,” he added.
