The stars of Love Island Australia Season 6 have expressed their surprise after making an unexpected cameo in Adam Sandler’s long-awaited film Happy Gilmore 2.

The sequel to the cult classic golf comedy was 29 years in the making, offering a major hit of nostalgia and dozens of cameos from his famous friends.

Among the big names in the newly released Netflix film are Travis Kelce, Bad Bunny, Eminem, golf stars Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler and stars of the 1996 original.

Plus, as it turns out, a couple of cast members from Love Island Australia Season 6 – something they certainly didn’t have on their 2025 bingo cards.

In a scene about halfway through the film, a moment featuring Hannah Steinfeld taking an outdoor shower from the 2024 season plays on the TV in Happy’s home.

“This girl’s got some body on her!’ Christopher McDonald, reprising his role of Shooter McGavin from the original film, remarks, leading golf legend John Daly to reply: “Hey, we do not objectify women anymore.”

While very unexpected, the moment made about as much sense as anything possibly can in Happy Gilmore – as John Daly, playing himself, declared himself a big fan of a reality series.

In an earlier scene, the former golfer asked Happy if he wanted to join him in watching the show. Happy said no at the time, but he didn’t know what he was missing!
