The Golden Bachelor fan-favourite Sunny has revealed the poignant reason she wore a wig at a recent rose ceremony after viewers questioned the bold look. The 58-year-old CEO wore a brown pixie cut wig at the end of the episode, a stark contrast from her usual long, dark red locks.
Sunny didn’t explain her new hairstyle on the show, although Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden said he “loved” her hair when he handed her a rose. Viewers, however, didn’t appear to share the same enthusiasm as they questioned the styling choice on social media.
“Sunny, what is that wig?” one person remarked

“What did Sunny do to her hair?” another asked.
Others questioned who she was “dressed up as” and demanded she bring back the red locks.
Sunny has since shared a post on Instagram revealing that she decided to wear the wig to honour her cancer journey.

“After being diagnosed with breast cancer, I bought this wig in preparation for potential hair loss,” she wrote.
“It has meant a lot to me since, and I love to pull it out for an occasion now and then, because why not! Variety is the spice of life!”
The mother-of-two revealed in an earlier episode that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, and while she’s ok now, it was a “turning point” in her life.

‘It was an amazing journey’
Sunny previously confessed to Yahoo Lifestyle that she was approached by Channel 9 to appear on The Golden Bachelor, and while her daughter initially thought it was a scam, she’s “so glad” she signed up.
“I had a wonderful time with beautiful friends, and they are so amazing. I had amazing love for everybody, and it was an amazing journey,” she shared.

Sunny went on to say that she had never watched The Bachelor franchise before appearing on the show, which she believes allowed her to have a more enjoyable filming experience.
“I didn’t think about [my edit] at all when I went on the journey, and I think sometimes ignorance can be your biggest weapon, so you don’t have to have that kind of jittery nervousness and just enjoy the ride,” she remarked.
