For the first time since 2017, Brazilians will watch a home Formula One hero race around Autódromo José Carlos Pace, more commonly known as Interlagos, this weekend.

Now, Gabriel Bortoleto heads to Interlagos while making his case to be F1’s 2025 rookie of the year. One thing motivates the 21-year-old: Becoming an F1 world champion.

“Be a dreamer. Don’t give up,” Bortoleto tells The Athletic when asked what he wants people to take away from his story. “If I did it, everyone can do it. I’m no better than anyone. I’m not born with anything else.

“It’s all about how much work you put into things, how much love you have into what you do, and how much you want things. Nothing will stop you, ever.”
