CELTIC target Lennon Miller could play for Motherwell against Russell Martin’s new-look Ibrox side in the Premiership opener at Fir Park on Saturday.

That’s the likely scenario if neither the champions nor Bologna make a move for the 18-year-old midfielder before the weekend.

Miller has been linked with Brendan Rodgers’ team for almost an entire season following some highly impressive displays for the Lanarkshire outfit, but nothing tangible has emerged with over a month of the transfer window still to run.

MY BALL…Celtic defender Alistair Johnston moves away from a challenge by Motherwell’s highly-rated midfielder Lennon Miller.

The Serie A outfit have also been monitoring the Scotland international, but they are holding off following up making a formal bid for the teenager.

Bologna have stalled in their move and are waiting to offload highly-rated forward Dan Nydoye before they make any more summer purchases, according to a report in Italian media journal Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Swiss international is wanted by Nottingham Forest who are involved in a £35million tug-of-war with Napoli for the versatile frontman.

The Italian side are waiting for a cash injection before making moves elsewhere.

Udinese are also watching developments involving Miller who did not feature in any of Well’s Premier Sports League Cup group stage games.

Now the playmaker could make his first appearance of the season when the Premiership kicks off on Saturday.
