Shields shared her thoughts while speaking in New York City, saying she’d be happy to coach Sweeney if she’s serious about fighting for a good cause.The offer came after Sydney Sweeney hinted she might do a charity fight. The Euphoria star recently played Christy Martin, a real-life boxing icon, in her new movie “Christy.” Sweeney trained hard for the role and even said she could see herself stepping into the ring. When Shields heard that, she instantly showed support, and even dropped some quick boxing advice for her.

Claressa Shields told TMZ Sports that she fully supports Sydney Sweeney taking part in a boxing event for charity. Shields said, “If she played Christy Martin and I heard she did MMA back in her younger years… hell, why not? If she needs some help training, girl, call me! I’ll give you some G.W.O.A.T. tips.”The champion also gave Sydney Sweeney some early training advice:“The jab is the most powerful punch in boxing,” Shields said.
“If someone’s stronger than you, hit them in the stomach, that makes them weaker.”
Shields also talked about safety in the ring. She said beginners should wear headgear, adding, “There’s no shame in wearing protection. You can skip it once you get some experience.”Sydney Sweeney hasn’t confirmed her next move yet, but her interest in boxing is real. The actress trained like a pro for her movie role and looked strong in her practice videos.
