The national conference of responsible officials from industrial and information technology authorities was held in Beijing on July 28. The meeting emphasized that, to promote high-quality development in the Information & Communication sector and consolidate competitive advantages and leading positions in the second half of the year, efforts should be made to popularize and improve the quality of 5G and gigabit optical networks. The ‘signal upgrade’ special action should be continuously promoted, and the pilot advancement of 10-gigabit optical networks should be intensified. The layout of computing centers should be advanced in an orderly manner to enhance the supply capacity and utilization efficiency of intelligent computing resources. Electronic business operation permits for telecommunications services should be fully promoted. The entry requirements for Satellite communication services should be optimized. A national emergency communication comprehensive support regional center should be established. Efforts should be made to provide warm and practical services in Information & Communication, and to deepen the prevention and control of telecom network fraud. Radio management should be strengthened, and all efforts should be made to ensure radio security, communication services, and cybersecurity for major events.
