West Ham United’s resurgence under Nuno Espírito Santo appears to be gathering pace, with the Hammers clinching back-to-back Premier League victories to breathe new life into their campaign.
Following an emphatic 3–1 triumph over Newcastle United, Nuno’s men edged Burnley 3–2 at the London Stadium — securing consecutive league wins for the first time this season.
Despite the recent uptick in form, West Ham still sit 18th in the table, and the threat of relegation remains very real.
With January fast approaching, the transfer window will be pivotal for the club — not only to retain key stars like Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paquetá but also to offload underperforming players such as Niclas Füllkrug and James Ward-Prowse.
Now, reports suggest that Nuno could look to bolster his midfield with a familiar Premier League face.

According to a report from Caught Offside, Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovacic has emerged as a potential target for several clubs, including West Ham United.
The 31-year-old Croatia international — once described by Danny Murphy as a player who makes football “look so easy and effortless” — has struggled for regular game time under Pep Guardiola this season and may be allowed to leave in January.
Sources claim that City are not in talks with Kovacic over a new contract, with the club open to listening to offers for him in the upcoming window.
“There are no talks ongoing over a new contract for Kovacic at City,” an anonymous source told Caught Offside.
“The likelihood is that City will be receptive to offers in January. Milan in particular are looking at this opportunity to accelerate a move.
“West Ham and Aston Villa are also interested, but less advanced for now. Same for Villarreal and Real Betis.”
While AC Milan are reportedly leading the chase, West Ham’s growing ambition under Nuno could yet tempt the classy playmaker to East London — especially with the promise of a key role in a side desperate to climb clear of the relegation zone.
