Chabot left Tuesday night’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars after the first period and did not return.

The veteran blueliner logged 6:51 of ice time before departing.

Head coach Travis Green told reporters after the game that the veteran blueliner was injured while “reaching for a puck”, but Chabot was also on the receiving end of a hit from Colin Blackwell before making the early exit.

In 17 games played this season, the Sainte-Marie, Que. native has recorded two goals and eight assists in 21:55 of action per game.

A former first-round pick of the team in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Chabot has scored 73 goals and 314 points in 529 career games skated for Ottawa.
