Alex Rodriguez and his ex-wife Cynthia Rodriguez Nicolas (née Scurtis) are tackling a touchy subject: The baller’s alleged affair with Madonna.

“At that point, we got divorced,” Cynthia explained on the November 13 episode of Alex Vs. ARod, according to Page Six.

As the outlet reports, the “Material Girl” singer’s name was not mentioned in the episode, however a New York Post article with the headline “A-Rod and Madonna Squeeze Play” flashed on-screen in the docuseries.

The retired New York Yankee star, 50, was married to Cynthia, 52, from 2002 to 2008, and they share two daughters: Natasha, 20, and Ella, 17.

Back in 2008, rumors swirled that Madonna (who was then married to Guy Ritchie) and Rodriguez were having an affair, which both denied.

Rodriguez told People of his connection to Madonna, 67, “We’re friends,” further dispelling romance rumors by adding, “We’re friends – that’s it.”

Meanwhile, Madonna told People in part: “I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez.”

On the November 13 episode of the HBO series, Cynthia said of one of her ex’s alleged affairs: “He seemed to be extremely apologetic and not proud of his actions,” adding, “I knew that he had his own demons, and I was hoping he would get help. I was hoping that it could end differently than it did.”

According to Page Six, Rodriguez said in the docuseries that he “could have been more loyal” to his ex.

“In hindsight, I could have been a better husband,” said Rodriguez. “I could have been more present. … I could have been more sympathetic, empathetic, all of it. You name it.”
