Joy Behar missed four consecutive episodes of The View earlier this week.
While the cohost typically has Mondays off, she also missed the next three broadcasts due to a foot injury.
The 83-year-old’s status on the show was finally revealed Friday.
Joy Behar‘s prized (but now injured) feet — which were previously caressed on the air by Matthew McConaughey — have returned to their post underneath The View‘s Hot Topics table.
Following the 83-year-old’s lengthy absence from the daytime talk show due to a foot injury, the comedian made her first appearance on the show in a week at the top of Friday’s broadcast.
The cohosts did not walk out to the table as usual, with the broadcast beginning with Behar and her colleagues already sitting at the table, where Behar wore a pair of slides instead of proper shoes.
“Now, I’ve been off for a few days,” Behar said, before explaining what happened to her foot.

“I dropped my iPad on my foot and I broke my toe,” Behar noted. “And they put the toes together because it’s broken, and it’s very, very, very painful. I do not recommend you dropping anything on your toes.”
Producer Brian Teta previously announced on Thursday’s episode of the Behind the Table podcast that Behar would return to the show the following morning.
Fans grew concerned after Behar, who typically has Mondays off, remained absent from the Hot Topics table on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, missing high-profile interviews with the likes of Sen. John Fetterman, Rob Riggle, and more.
Moderator Whoopi Goldberg confirmed Behar’s temporary departure on Tuesday, noting that the cohost was absent without providing more details.
On Wednesday, Goldberg explained to viewers why Behar wasn’t on The View for the time being.
“Now, Joy is out because she hurt her foot, and hopefully she’ll be back here tomorrow,” Goldberg said at the time.
On Thursday — Goldberg’s 70th birthday episode — Sunny Hostin revealed that Behar had sent in one of her famous lasagnas to celebrate her friend’s big day, though she was unable to attend the in-studio event herself.

Joy Behar for ‘The View’
Entertainment Weekly reached out to a representative for The View for comment at the time.
Behar’s feet have played a pivotal role in recent View history. In addition to the aforementioned on-air foot massage from McConaughey, Behar famously told comedian Matt Rogers to “shut up” in a prior episode after he revealed live on the air that he once saw Behar riding on an airplane with her shoes off.
