One of the hottest names on the trade market is now dealing with an injury scare.

Diamondbacks All-Star third baseman Eugenio Suarez left Monday’s game against the Tigers after he was hit in the hand in the ninth inning by Detroit reliever Will Vest at Comerica Park, although he appears to have avoided serious injury.

After the game, which the Tigers won 5-1, Suarez told reporters that X-rays were negative on his left index finger, and the Diamondbacks are considering the slugger’s injury day-to-day, reported The Athletic’s Cody Stavenhagen.

Suarez is hitting .247 this season with 36 home runs and a National League-leading 87 RBIs.

He has also notched a 143 OPS+, the highest mark of his 12-year career.

On July 25, The Post’s Jon Heyman reported that the Phillies, Mariners, Cubs, Reds, Astros, Tigers and Brewers were potential fits for Suarez, and the Yankees were widely considered a potential destination before they traded to acquire third baseman Ryan McMahon from the Rockies.

After he was hit by the pitch, a 96 mph fastball from Vest, Suarez spun around and hopped up and down in pain.

He then dropped down to his knees and held his hand before the Diamondbacks’ training staff came onto the field and ushered him out of the game.

Suarez, 34, made his MLB debut in 2014 with the Tigers before spending seven seasons with the Reds, with whom he earned his first All-Star appearance in 2018.

He then spent 2022 and 2023 with the Mariners, before getting dealt to Arizona in November 2023.

And given that Monday’s hand injury does not appear to be severe, the Venezuelan is likely to remain in trade discussion ahead of the July 31 deadline, with teams clamoring to add his powerful bat and veteran savvy for the stretch run.
