Emma Raducanu chimed in on the much-talked-about debate between Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer during an interview in 2024.
Raducanu is in hot form heading into the US Open after two semi-final spots in the singles and doubles of the Washington Open.
The British No. 1 heads into the Canadian Open with a genuine chance of getting a seed for the US Open, as Raducanu keeps improving on her 2024 season.
Back in 2024, she was defiant that Novak Djokovic was the tennis ‘GOAT’ – but there’s another star she’d much rather watch.

Raducanu believes the numbers don’t lie when it comes to the tennis ‘GOAT’, but also admitted Djokovic wasn’t her ‘favourite’ star.
“In my opinion, the tennis GOAT is Novak Djokovic for pure, just repeatable quality,” said Raducanu in an interview with Sky Sports.
However, the British No. 1 revealed she’d much rather watch Roger Federer on the court than the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
“I think my favourite to watch is Roger Federer,” the 2021 US Open champion revealed in the Sky Sports’ Editions interviews.
Raducanu listed several of Federer’s attributes to back up her claim. “He resembles grace, class, elegance, timelessness — all of the above,” said the star.
Emma Raducanu also named her favourite female tennis star
Raducanu has also mentioned Chinese tennis star Li Na as one of her favourite players to watch growing up.
The British star received the Laureus Award for ‘Breakthrough of the Year’ after her win at the US Open in 2021.
Raducanu was given the award by Na, and she thanked the star at the ceremony in Mandarin. “Li Na, you are my favourite tennis star. I would like to say thank you,” said Raducanu.
Raducanu is currently appearing at the Canadian Open as she looks to continue her fine form over the summer.
