A day after speaking to GPs about the benefits of AI, Dr Amandeep Hansra had to confront a patient who was convinced she was wrong because ChatGPT disagreed with her.

She had already seen the patient at her Sydney practice for a bread-and-butter GP issue and recommended a treatment.

However, the patient had called back to complain because they had “consulted” the AI chatbot ChatGPT, which had recommended a different treatment.

Dr Hansra arranged a follow-up appointment to try to convince the patient that ChatGPT had recommended an unnecessary treatment.
