A new facial analysis study has named Emma Stone the most beautiful woman in the world, using measurements inspired by the classical Greek Golden Ratio. The two-time Academy Award winner earned a near-perfect score of 94.72%, placing her at the top of a list comparing today’s leading female celebrities.
The results come from Dr. Julian De Silva of London’s Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery, who used modern facial-mapping software to evaluate symmetry, proportions, and key aesthetic markers.
High scores across all facial features
According to Dr. De Silva, Emma Stone’s consistently high scores across multiple categories secured her first place. Her eyebrows ranked at 94.2%, her lips at 95.6%, and her jawline—one of her most praised features—scored an impressive 97%. The study found that her overall facial proportions align closely with the mathematical balance associated with the Golden Ratio, long linked to visual harmony.
Following Emma Stone, several other celebrities reached similarly high marks, including Zendaya, Beyoncé, and Margot Robbie. Zendaya, in particular, trailed closely behind with a score of 94.37%, receiving standout evaluations for her lips (99.5%), eyes (97.3%), and forehead (98%).
Emma Stone Tops Golden Ratio Ranking in a Blend of Science and Aesthetics
Dr. De Silva explained that the technology behind these calculations allows researchers and cosmetic specialists to more clearly understand traits traditionally associated with physical attractiveness.
He noted that this method is not only useful for aesthetic research but also assists in planning facial procedures for patients seeking balanced or enhanced proportions.
The Ancient Greek Golden Ratio
The Golden Ratio, symbolized by the number 1.618, traces its origins to ancient Greek mathematicians who sought a measurable way to define beauty. They believed that structures—or faces—closer to this ratio appeared more harmonious to the human eye. The concept influenced classical art, sculpture, and architecture, shaping centuries of aesthetic theory.
One of the most famous interpretations appears in Leonardo da Vinci’s “Vitruvian Man,” which uses Golden Ratio principles to illustrate ideal human proportions. While originally a mathematical pursuit, the Golden Ratio continues to fascinate scientists, artists, and cosmetic specialists alike, bridging the worlds of ancient philosophy and modern technology.
