A lipreader has revealed what Ariana Grande said during the premiere of Wicked For Good in New York after she became overwhelmed by photographers, just days after she was grabbed by a fan during a similar event in Singapore.

Amid the glitz and glamour on the red carpet in the Big Apple this week, Grande was getting snapped by photographers until it all became too much for her.

Lipreader Jeremy Freeman told the Daily Mail that Grande said to photographers: “If you could (signalling calm it down with her hands) … my anxiety.”

After it quieted down, she appeared to say: “This is so peaceful, see?”

“Queen was just a lil overstimulated,” one person said online.

“Very overstimulating especially for people with anxiety and PTSD,” another added.

It comes days after Grande was grabbed by Johnson Wen, 26, who jumped a barrier, dodged security guards and rushed towards her, in an incident that clearly rattled her during the Singapore premiere.

Her co-star Cynthia Erivo acted quickly to try and protect Grande while calling for help.

Wen, who refers to himself as Pyjama Man, has since pleaded guilty to a single charge of being a public nuisance and was sentenced to nine days in a Singapore jail, according to international media reports.

Singapore District Judge Christopher Goh delivered a rebuke of the young man, who has previously been sentenced on Australian soil for being a public nuisance.

Judge Goh said the act appeared to be “premeditated” and said his pattern of the behaviour suggested that he will do it again.

“You seem to be attention seeking, thinking only of yourself and not the safety of others when committing these acts,” he said.

“You should be mindful that there are always consequences for one’s actions.”

He said, in giving the sentence, the court needed to “send a signal to like-minded individuals … that we will not condone any act that potentially undermines the reputation of Singapore as a safe country”.

After being sentenced, Wen tried to assure the judge he “won’t do it again” and would “stop getting into trouble”.

His punishment comes after he boasted about meeting Grande on social media as he posted a video of the incident where he tried to wrap his arms around the 32-year-old actress.

“Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You,” he posted.

He also shared another post of himself on Instagram, saying he was “free after being arrested”.
