An elderly woman has been killed when she was hit by a car in the carpark of a medical centre in Melbourne’s southeast.

The woman, aged in her 80s, was struck in front of the Narre Warren Medicare Urgent Care Clinic on Victor Cres about 12.30pm on Thursday.

She died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his 50s, stopped at the scene and is speaking with police.

“The investigation into the incident is ongoing,” police said.

Officers remain at the scene.
