Australia is notoriously large and difficult to travel through but from today, for the pretty price of $10, Aussies can now go between three major cities. FlixBus is a company that has been widely popular in Europe for allowing travellers to journey from city to city on a budget for years.
Today, the bright green buses made their maiden journeys between Sydney and Melbourne, stopping off at Canberra, set to now take place twice daily in both directions.
The route, which takes roughly 11.5 hours to complete and can be taken either during the day or overnight, includes strategic stops at both international and domestic airports, ensuring both locals and international tourists can benefit from the service.

In the opposite direction, the first service leaves Melbourne at 10:20 am and the second departs at 10:05pm.
There will also be 12 daily trips from Sydney to Canberra every three to 3.5 hours, and the journey takes just over three hours.
Australia is the 45th country Flix is now operating in, and the introduction has sparked excitement among many Aussies.
Aussies ‘so keen’ for bus to connect one of the world’s most travelled routes
While long, tiresome bus journeys aren’t usually something to rejoice about, many Aussies are excited at the prospect of a budget-friendly travel option between Sydney and Melbourne, with the route ranked the fifth-busiest in the world last year by OAG Aviation report.

Two Melburnians filmed themselves booking the route for February on social media, explaining they would get to Sydney and back for a grand total of $17.99 to enjoy three nights in the Harbour City.
They remarked that it seems “too good to be true”, only being charged $1.89 so they could sit next to each other.
“That is cheap to go to Sydney and back,” they said to one another. “Low key, so keen.”
On board, passengers will have access to free Wi-Fi, reclining seats, power outlets and toilets, and are able to take on a seven kilogram carry-on and two pieces of stowed luggage, each up to 20 kilograms each.
It’s not yet clear how long the $9.99 introductory fare will run, but after that, prices are set to rise up to $60.
