The 2026 NHL Winter Classic between the Florida Panthers and the New York Rangers is poised to be a fantastic event for the sport. Set for January 2 at Miami’s loanDepot Park, it marks the first outdoor NHL game ever played in Florida.
The Panthers’ Winter Classic jersey channels vintage vibes, reimagining their classic panther crest. The crimson base color is deeper than their usual red, and decorative chevron stitching nods to South Florida’s military history. There is also a silhouette of a rat on the hem loop, an homage to the Panthers’ longtime tradition of fans tossing plastic rats on the ice after big wins.
For the Rangers, their Winter Classic jersey is an off-white design inspired by their Centennial jersey, reinforcing their 100th-season celebrations. Instead of their team name across the front, New York runs diagonally, echoing the layout of their blue Centennial uniform but with a throwback twist. This is also a red apple patch on the shoulder, with their NYR lettering.
