A bit of a weird session! Hard to deduce too much of a pecking order due to the red flags, which meant not everyone got in soft-tire runs. Lando Norris will definitely take finishing P1, especially given all the doubts and concerns McLaren had going into the weekend around its pace. Definitely more to come from Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen.
Kimi Antonelli was up there once again for Mercedes, he’s been on a good run lately. I had a very brief chat with him earlier when passing outside Mercedes’ hospitality unit and I mentioned his recent good form, and he was really humble about it all. “Three more, keep pushing for 2026!” A really good kid.
