Microsoft’s billionaire co-founder Bill Gates is reportedly selling his superyacht. According to Daily Mail, the 112-metre-long boat named ‘Breakthrough‘ is going on sale at the Monaco Yacht Show this September and has hefty price tag of $645 million.
Gates’s property will be the largest yacht in the sale owing to its size and a diverse range of services it provides. Built over five years, the yacht has 15 cabins for 30 people, boasts a basketball court, a beach club-style infinity pool, a helipad and even an emergency room.

Besides, the five-deck yacht also features libraries, a cinema, a gym, jacuzzi, steam room and multiple hot tubs.

“At each deck level, there are inviting private lifestyle destinations to savor such as a coffee corner and games niche on the bridge deck, a library on the main deck, and a private dining room with a sea terrace and adjacent ensuite stateroom on the lower deck,” yacht dealer Edmiston stated in a press release.
Interestingly, Gates has never stepped on the yacht despite owning it and Canadian billionaire Patrick Dovigi, who is currently the top buyer, could be the next owner, The Daily Beast reported.
Notably, this is the world’s first ‘net-zero’ superyacht which is powered by liquid hydrogen, cooled to -253°C, and next-generation fuel cells. Edmiston stressed that this kind of propellant system has never been used in the maritime sector but ‘Breakthrough’ has “shown that cryogenic storage of liquified hydrogen in the interior of a superyacht is a viable solution.”
