It’s a busy day of first-round action at the Canadian Open, with plenty of notable names taking to the court at the ATP event in Toronto and the WTA tournament in Montreal.
18:22 CET –Â Navarro’s win was closely followed by another dominant display as Australian number one Daria Kasatkina defeated Anna Blinkova 6-1, 6-4.
18:15 CET – The first winner of the day comes from Montreal and world number 11 Emma Navarro, who has wasted no time in beating Rebecca Marino 6-1, 6-2 to progress.
14:30 CET – Over to the ATP tour and Toronto, there is a fascinating match to look forward to early evening between rising star Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and fifth seed Holger Rune.
Whilst Mpetshi Perricard has been making his name for himself in the last year or so, Rune has been struggling with form and fitness in a challenging spell in his career.Â
