The Western Bulldogs have updated their AFL coaching panel for 2026, elevating Ben Reid to assistant coach.

It comes after Matt Spangher departed for Hawthorn earlier this month.

Reid will take charge of the forward line, alongside Brendon Lade (stoppage), Jarryn Geary (transition) and Daniel Pratt (backline).

Reid spent this past year as a development coach, working closely with the team’s young forwards.

Prior to joining Mission Whitten Oval, Reid gained coaching experience with Wangaratta in the Ovens & Murray competition as a Head Coach.

He played 152 games for Collingwood, including the 2010 premiership, before retiring in 2020.

His father Bruce has a strong affiliation to the Bulldogs, having played 86 games for Footscray between 1977 and 1982.

Bulldogs club games-record holder Brad Johnson will continue his part-time role into 2026, supporting Reid and the forwards in their goal-kicking.
