The competition
The Motorola Edge 70 checks enough boxes to be an easy recommendation based on specs alone. Throughout our review, it proved to be a consistently solid performer. With today’s trend toward slim smartphones, the Edge 70 fits right in – though it’s certainly not the only contender in this category.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is the first competitor that comes to mind, offering an even slimmer profile on paper. It packs a higher-resolution display, significantly more powerful hardware, and a main camera capable of shooting 8K video. While its wired charging is slower and its battery life slightly shorter, the S25 Edge still comes in at a lower price – and ultimately delivers better overall value for the money.
Next is the iPhone Air, which was expected to kick-start this ultra-slim trend – though Samsung ended up getting there first. Still, the Air is a more compact device with an excellent display and a powerful chipset. It’s currently the thinnest of the bunch, yet it manages to excel in battery life. It does cost more and offers only a single rear camera, but if you’re after the absolute slimmest phone on the market, it’s definitely worth considering.
The Realme 15 Pro might be an unusual pick here as it’s not as slim as the other phones so far. However, it packs almost the same hardware as the Edge 70 but with a larger battery and a lower price. If it’s available in your region, it definitely deserves a spot on your shortlist.
The vivo V60 is another comparable option, featuring a more conventional 1080p display but adding a 50MP 3x telephoto camera, a larger battery, and faster charging. It’s definitely worth considering if it’s available in your country.

Our verdict
The Motorola Edge 70 arguably boasts the best design among today’s ultra-slim smartphones. Its premium build delivers everything – lupscale design, increased water and drop resistance, and one of the most comfortable grips in a long time. And on top of that, it’s impressively thin.
We appreciate the large OLED display with its high resolution and fast refresh rate, and the phone’s battery life turned out to be excellent, matched by equally impressive charging speeds. We also have to give credit to Motorola for its clean and thoughtful approach to Android.
And then there are the cameras, which deliver excellent results both day and night – ultimately becoming the phone’s most unexpected highlight.

The chipset performance is not very competitive. Not that it’s bad – in fact, the Edge 70 shows plenty of potential – but there are simply cheaper phones that offer more powerful hardware.
Nevertheless, we’re confident that in a few months – once its price inevitably settles down a bit – the Edge 70 will be seriously worth considering.
