Oregon quarterback Dante Moore has drawn national attention this season and for good reason. The Ducks passer seems to be a game managing, but that’s not to be a bad label.

On Monday, Moore received one of his most notable endorsements yet from Todd McShay. During an episode of The McShay Show, the longtime NFL Draft analyst offered a striking comparison to Houston Texans star C.J. Stroud.
McShay said Moore’s field vision and rhythm passing mirrors the former Ohio State standout. “Dante Moore is C.J. Stroud,” McShay said. “He’s got some mobility but he won’t run unless it’s wide open. Doesn’t love getting hit. Not twitchy in the pocket, so he’s gonna take some hits. But he’s the best pure passer in the country.”
Moore has done his job, guiding fifth-ranked Ducks to a 10-1 record and a likely path back to the College Football Playoff. The former five-star recruit has completed 72.9 percent of his passes for 2,447 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions through 11 games.
Moore’s rapid development and his recent performances against Minnesota and USC stand out. “There is a definitive progression being made,” McShay said. “Smooth stroke. Everything is thrown catchable… The guy is special with his passing skills.”

While Moore’s college production hasn’t yet reached Stroud’s, there still time for more growth and an upcoming College Football Playoff run.
